Be prepared

In a recent blog post, we talked about Chester County’s new 9-1-1 text messaging option. Chester County Emergency Services has also created a special website that serves as the official source for emergency information and government notifications. The website is designed to notify viewers during a crisis or emergency, as well as weather, road closures, health, police emergency, power outages, and other community alerts. Many college campuses offer these types of alerts for all students. This is a similar platform specifically directed towards the community.

Participants can sign up to receive notifications by their county, municipality, or topic. You can get these alerts on any and all of your devices email, cell phone (via text-message), tablet, etc. To register, visit www.readychesco.org to become a part of the Emergency Alert & Notification System.

The website also has great information on planning before an emergency, resources during an emergency, and recovering after one.
