New Texting Law starts...

Starting 8 March, 2012, the new law regarding texting while driving goes into effect. The new law makes texting while driving a primary offense, This means that the police may stop you specifically for this. Unlike the mandatory seat belt law, where you can only be fined if you have been stopped for something else, this gives the police the authority to stop you for this alone. The fine is $50.00 for each event.

We are all in a hurry these days, but texting while drving is dangerous. If a $50 fine isn’t enough of a deterent
remebre that an at-fault accident can increase your car insurance by as much as 40%.

Be safe.
